Open a working folder
- Choose Code in the sidebar and start a new session.
- Choose Open folder… in the folder picker, or Add → Open folder when no folder is selected.
- Select the folder you intend the agent to use. Confirm its displayed name and path before sending.
- Choose a ready harness, model, and permission mode, then send the task.
- Return to the persisted session from the sidebar to continue its work.
In a session with a folder, the Add menu offers Open another folder. Changing the folder affects where subsequent work occurs; a previous transcript may still describe the original location. Verify the destination before acting on old paths.
Manage a session deliberately
Use Session actions in the session header for the actions available to its current state. The sidebar session menu provides organization controls such as rename, pin, archive, and delete. Archived sessions are readable but cannot run until restored. A new session does not inherit every setting or native history feature from an earlier one merely because it uses the same folder.
A Chat project is a conversation collection, not a filesystem workspace. Renaming a sidebar item is an organizational action; it is not an instruction to move a directory on disk.
When a folder is unavailable
Check that an external drive is mounted and the folder still exists. Open the correct folder again through the picker instead of asking the agent to recreate missing project content. If isolation matters, use worktrees before starting concurrent editing tasks.
Continue with organizing sessions, workspace panels, and workspace troubleshooting.
